Jonas Heinz shortly before a new challenge

Over the past two years, Jonas Heinz has attracted attention at Casertana in Serie C. Now the player from Naturns is on the verge of a transfer.

According to multiple media reports, Salernitana has won the race to sign Heinz. The 23-year-old defender made a name for himself last season, scoring four goals for Casertana. Heinz also found the net in the playoff against Salernitana. The Salerno-based club is playing in Serie C again this year and is determined to gain promotion.

Salernitana only played in Serie A from 2021 to 2024 before being relegated all the way down to the third division. The club from near Naples is said to have beaten out Serie B clubs Catanzaro and Carrarese in the race to sign Heinz.

On paper, Heinz is currently without a club, having not renewed his contract with Casertana, which expires at the end of June. The native of the Vinschgau Valley joined FC Südtirol at the age of eleven and progressed through their youth academy. For the past four years, Heinz has been under contract with various Serie C clubs.
