The final decision was made on Sunday evening as to who will face FC Südtirol in Serie B next season. In the Serie C playoff final, LR Vicenza - sporting director Werner Seeber and ex-FCS coach Stefano Vecchi are in charge at the club from Veneto - faced off against Carrarese Calcio, which has two South Tyrolean players in the squad: Emanuele Zuelli and Simone Zanon. While the two teams drew 0-0 in the first leg on Wednesday, the team from Tuscany won the second leg 1-0 and was promoted to the second division with Zuelli and Zanon.
Mattia Finotto scored the only goal of the game, which would lead Carrarese Calcio and the two South Tyrolean players into Serie B, in the 6th minute. The team from Tuscany skillfully managed this lead until the final whistle, which brought the longed-for salvation for Zuelli, Zanon and Co.
