Regional League: The pursuers are not all keeping pace

The regional league remains highly exciting at the top. While FC Gröden is keeping pace with Bruneck, Naturns and Ahrntal suffered setbacks on Sunday.

After four consecutive wins, Naturns could only manage a 4-1 draw at home against Voran Leifers. The visitors' captain, Stefan Clementi, equalized with a penalty in the 1th minute. Naturns now trails league leaders Bruneck by four points.

Ahrntal also dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Gitschberg Jochtal. Teldra are now level on points with Val Gardena in second place. The closest rivals are two points behind Bruneck. Val Gardena did their homework on Sunday with a 2-0 win against Latsch.

Salurn celebrated a goal-fest. Fabio Bertoldi scored a hat trick in the 6-1 victory over Riffian Kuens. The visitors, however, can look forward to the first amateur league. In Sunday's other match, Weinstraße Süd beat relegation-threatened Latzfons Verdings 1-3.
