Will Bruneck fail to achieve its long-awaited return to the Oberliga this year? Fuschini's team suffered a surprising home defeat against Riffian Kuens on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bruneck were defeated by Ahrntal, Val Gardena and Naturno overtaken in the table.
Teldra are the new leaders, winning 3-0 away against Schenna. A brace from Ahrntal's central defender Jonas Engl was crucial, as he also kept Schenna's dangerous attacking triangle under control. Two points behind are Naturno and Val Gardena, both of whom are enjoying strong second half seasons. Brunico, on the other hand, is now three points behind the leaders.
Naturno and Val Gardena also strong
Val Gardena has been a well-established team for years and boasts experienced players like Jan Martin Vinatzer and Michael Bacher. Naturno is relying largely on homegrown players this year and also added Yassine Bounou to its squad this winter. The former Virtus Bolzano striker also got on the scoresheet in the 5-0 thrashing of Latzfons Verdings. Matthias Bacher also scored a hat trick. Val Gardena surprisingly beat the strong newly promoted Cermes Marling 4-0.Salurn swept Voran Leifers 5-0 in the Unterland duel. Strikers Simon Baldo and Fabio Bertoldi also scored. In the other Sunday match, Weinstraße Süd and Gitschberg Jochtal drew 2-2.
